About Our Liberty Hill Youth Basketball Program
Liberty Hill has grown faster than almost anywhere in Williamson County, and the school district has grown with it. Liberty Hill ISD opened Legacy Ranch High School and Legacy Ranch Middle School for the 2026-27 year, joining Liberty Hill High School, Liberty Hill Middle School and Santa Rita Middle School. Those new campuses mean rezoned boundaries and, for a lot of players, a new set of teammates and a new coach to impress.
That is a good moment to be working on your game. When a district splits, roster spots open up and coaches are evaluating kids they have never seen before. Players who spend the off-season getting real reps tend to make the strongest first impression, and that is most of what we do at Impact Sportz.
We do not run a facility in Liberty Hill, and we would rather say that plainly than have you show up expecting a gym. Our north-side teams practice at Austin Sports Center Cedar Park, Henry Middle School and Round Rock Sports Center, a short drive for families coming from Liberty Hill, Leander, Bertram and Georgetown. Little Hoopers runs ages 6 to 8, boys join teams in 4th grade and girls in 5th. Call 512-312-6283.

Little Hoopers
Our Little Hoopers program is designed for boys and girls ages 6-8, providing a fun and engaging introduction to basketball. Through age-appropriate drills and games, young athletes develop fundamental skills, teamwork, and a love for the sport in a supportive and energetic environment.
Little Hoopers is our starting point for Liberty Hill boys and girls ages 6 to 8. Practices are built around fun drills, listening, sharing the ball and the first real fundamentals: dribbling with both hands, catching and finding a spot on the floor. Lonnie Welch and Toron Clark founded Impact Sportz in Chicago and relocated the program to Austin, coaching Central Texas players since 2010. The goal has stayed the same: give kids real coaching and let them find out what they are capable of. Liberty Hill has grown fast, and a lot of that growth is families who want their kids competing at a higher level without giving up their evenings to traffic. Boys join teams in 4th grade and girls in 5th. We are close enough to make that work, and serious enough to make it matter.

Where do Liberty Hill teams actually practice?
At our north-side gyms: Austin Sports Center Cedar Park, Henry Middle School and Round Rock Sports Center. Impact Sportz does not have its own facility in Liberty Hill, but the drive from town is short and most families are already used to heading that direction. Practice locations are confirmed by team when rosters are set.
My child plays for Liberty Hill ISD. Can they still join?
Yes. Impact Sportz is an independent AAU club, not affiliated with Liberty Hill ISD or any school program, so school players are welcome. Most of our AAU season runs February through July, which sits outside the school basketball calendar. If there is any overlap, we will work around your child’s school commitments.
What ages do you take?
Little Hoopers covers ages 6 to 8 and is mostly about fundamentals, movement and enjoying the game. Team basketball starts in 4th grade for boys and 5th grade for girls and runs through high school. If you are not sure where your child fits, call 512-312-6283 and we will help you figure it out.
When is the season and how much travel is involved?
The main AAU stretch is February through July, with fall and winter teams available for players who want to keep going. Tournament weekends vary by team and age group, and we lay out the expected schedule before you commit. For Liberty Hill families, weekday practices at the Cedar Park and Round Rock gyms are the regular commitment.
How do we get started?

A lot of Liberty Hill families start with a camp so their child can meet the coaches before committing to a select roster. We will give you a straight answer about whether a team is the right fit.
Is AAU basketball better than high school?
AAU is an excellent outlet for fans and coaches to see top talent playing together in the same building. Compared to high school ball, there is only one game per night, and all of the top talents might not be playing that night.
How do I join an AAU team?
We have tryouts 4 times a year. Grades 4th through 8th have 4 tryouts per year. High School has 3 tryouts per year.
How much does it cost to play?
