Del Valle turns out tough, competitive kids, and Del Valle ISD families have always known it. Our Del Valle group pulls players from Del Valle Middle School, Dailey Middle School and Ojeda Middle School, and from Del Valle High School.
With one comprehensive high school serving the district, the path to a varsity roster runs through a single set of tryouts, and the players who get there are usually the ones who kept working after the school season ended. That is where we fit. Our coaches drill the things school coaches actually evaluate: handles that survive pressure, defensive positioning, clean shooting form and a player who can read what the defense is giving them.
Our gyms are not in Del Valle itself, but they are close. South and central practices run at Austin Sports Center Central and Lively Middle School, a short drive from Del Valle, and we work with families across southeast Austin, Montopolis, Garfield, Elroy, Creedmoor and Mustang Ridge. If your week happens to run north, Austin Sports Center Cedar Park, Henry Middle School and Round Rock Sports Center are also available. Little Hoopers is where our youngest players start: boys and girls ages 6 to 8, including plenty from Del Valle. We run these sessions at Austin Sports Center Central and Lively Middle School, both a short drive from Del Valle. The focus is fundamentals, dribbling, passing, shooting and learning to play with teammates. Drills are built as games, so kids stay engaged while they build coordination and confidence. No experience needed. This is the on-ramp to everything else we offer.

Impact Sportz was founded in Chicago by Lonnie Welch and Toron Clark and relocated to Austin, where we have coached Central Texas players since 2010. The athletes who get the most out of us are the ones who stay. Boys can join a team in 4th grade and girls in 5th, and we keep the same standards and the same coaching approach all the way up, so Del Valle players are not starting over every season.

Will this help my child make the Del Valle ISD school team?
That is the main reason most Del Valle families come to us. Select basketball gives your child far more reps and tougher competition than a school season alone, and our coaches work on exactly what school coaches look for: ball handling, shooting mechanics, defensive positioning and basketball IQ.
What months does AAU basketball run?
The main AAU season runs February through July. That stretch holds most of the practices, tournaments and travel. We also run fall and winter teams, so Del Valle players who want to keep developing between spring seasons have a place to do it. Call 512-312-6283 and we will tell you what is next.
Age 6. Little Hoopers runs for ages 6 to 8, built around fundamentals and fun rather than heavy competition. Team basketball starts in 4th grade for boys and 5th grade for girls and runs through high school. Impact Sportz has been coaching youth basketball in the Austin area since 2010.
Is AAU basketball better than high school?
AAU is an excellent outlet for fans and coaches to see top talent playing together in the same building. Compared to high school ball, there is only one game per night, and all of the top talents might not be playing that night.
How do I join an AAU team?
We have tryouts 4 times a year. Grades 4th through 8th have 4 tryouts per year. High School has 3 tryouts per year.
How much does it cost to play?
